Details:Mullingar Pewter goblet featuring representation of St Mark from the Book of Kells. Traditionally, the Lion symbolises St Mark the Evangelist. The design around the foot of the tankard is inspired by Celtic Filigree work, which continues up to the bowl of the goblet, framing the figure of the lion. Mullingar pewter features each symbollic representation of the Evangelists on a separate goblet. The other three are: The ox representing Matthew, the Eagle representing John and the angel representing Matthew.
