J & Z Blackman is based on Anne Street, Dublin. This elegant and understated piece depicts a reed cross. While sitting beside a Pagan lord on his death bed, St Brigid wove a cross of reeds as she spoke to him. When he learnt what the cross meant, he asked to be baptised. The cross has since become symbolic of Ireland, and is traditionally woven on St Bridgid's day to mark the beginning on spring.
