Geraldine Murphy has a BA in Sociology and History from TCD, among many other qualifications. She acquired her jewellery making skills at various workshops and classes, however she is mostly self taught. Her work in animation, such as the 'Give Up Yer Auld Sins' series which was nominated for an Oscar in 2001, has greatly influenced her design. Murphy takes most of her inspiration from animals in action. The inspiration for this piece came from a cat who was seen washing himslef while perche don a wall in Galway during the film festival, purring loudly. Sits comfortably on a snake chain made of sterling silver.
